Adult Communication Assessment and Therapy

Communication difficulties don't disappear when childhood ends. Many adults continue to experience challenges with understanding information, expressing themselves clearly, finding the right words, participating in conversations, managing workplace communication, or navigating social interactions.

Sometimes these difficulties have been present throughout life but were never fully understood. For others, increasing demands at work, higher education, family life, or relationships can make communication challenges more noticeable.

Is Communication Holding You Back at Work, at Home, or in Relationships?

At Thrive Communication Therapy, we provide specialist assessment and support for adults who want to better understand their communication strengths and areas of difficulty and develop practical strategies for everyday life.

We support adults aged 18+ who experience communication challenges in a variety of contexts, including:

  • Difficulties expressing ideas clearly

  • Struggling to find the right words when speaking

  • Challenges following long or complex conversations

  • Feeling misunderstood by colleagues, friends, or family members

  • Difficulties organising thoughts and communicating them effectively

  • Social communication differences

  • Challenges managing workplace meetings, presentations, or professional communication

  • Difficulties understanding implied meanings, humour, or figurative language

  • Communication challenges experienced by people with existing diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD or Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).

You do not need to have a diagnosis to access our services.

Many adults seek support because they have always felt that communication is harder for them than it seems for others and want answers about why.
